Create databases of dogs or other animals. Normally each breed would have its own database file. Breed Mate places no limits on the number of files you keep. Breed Mate is a very complex program yet it is easy to use and requires very few resources from the computer. The program itself uses only 320KB of disk space and a typical database with 1500 entries would be about 180KB in size.
All Breed Mate database files are in a proprietary database format but Breed Mate also allows you to import or export data in the comma separated value (CSV) text format. This is a format that can be imported or exported by most spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel. In addition Version 2.0 now allows direct copy and paste between Breed Mate and other Windows applications such as spreadsheets and word processors.
Each database file is usually specific to a particular breed of dog. The number and size of your files is usually only limited by your disk space. Each file has been nominally limited to 64,000 records and each record to 2000 bytes - for all practical purposes these limits would not be reached.
Each record in the database corresponds to a single animal. It lists such items as the entries name, sire, dam, registration, date of birth, colour, sex, titles and genetic disease status. Each breed file can store at least 64,000 entries (assumes 8MB RAM minimum) and each entry has 39 data fields including fields for name, sex, date of birth, sire, dam, registration, show titles, obediance, colour, genetic diseases etc. Read databases created by other people or merge other databases into your existing database. New entries can be added to the database or existing entries modified at any time. Data can be imported from virtually any spreadsheet or word processing package. Family trees, pedigrees and databases can be printed on A4, A3 or any size paper supported by your printer and Windows 3.1.
After downloading, run BM20DEMO.EXE to extract then run INSTALL.EXE to setup.
